1. Game Overview

Element Alchemy: Modern Art Edition is a stylish, thought-provoking puzzle game that fuses the classic element-combination concept with a 2048-style sliding tile puzzle.

Players take on the role of an alchemist, swiping elemental tiles across the board to combine them. In a world where physics and magic intertwine, your goal is to create everything—from basic elements to mythological concepts—and complete the in-game Archive (Gallery).

The game features a minimalist, geometric visual style inspired by modern art, paired with an immersive dark-mode–based design.

2. Basic Controls and Rules

Controls

  • PC: Arrow keys (↑ ↓ ← →)

  • Smartphone / Tablet: Swipe gestures

Movement

  • All tiles on the board slide simultaneously in the input direction.

  • After each move, one new Basic Element (Lv.1) appears in a random empty cell.

3. Two Fusion Systems

The core uniqueness of the game lies in how different tile combinations produce different outcomes.

A. Evolution Fusion

Occurs when different types of elements collide, if a valid recipe exists.

Example:
[Fire] + [Water] → [Steam]

  • Both tiles disappear.

  • A new higher-tier element is created in their place.

  • Newly created elements always start at Lv.1.

  • Discovering new elements fills the Archive and increases the discovery percentage.

B. Stacking Fusion

Occurs when identical elements collide.

Example:
[Fire Lv.1] + [Fire Lv.2] → [Fire Lv.3]

  • The element does not evolve.

  • Instead, its level increases.

  • Higher-level tiles grant significantly higher scores when removed.

When no evolution recipe exists, deliberately stacking identical elements to save space becomes a key strategic choice.

4. Missions and “Cross Break”

At the top of the screen, a mission is always displayed:

NEXT: [Target] = [Material A] + [Material B]

Successfully creating the specified element triggers a powerful bonus effect called Cross Break.

Effect

  • All tiles in the same row and column as the completed tile are destroyed.

Strategy

As the board fills up, reaching a deadlock becomes increasingly likely. Intentionally completing missions to activate Cross Break and clear the board is essential for long-term survival.

5. Scoring System

High scores are calculated based on the following bonuses:

Evolution Bonus

(New Element Rarity + 1) × 100 points

  • Basic points awarded for discovering new elements.

Level-Up Bonus

(Element Rarity + 1) × Total Level × 10 points

  • Raising rare elements to high levels before merging can result in explosive score gains.

Mission Completion Bonus

Flat 1,000 points

6. Game Over Conditions

The game ends when the 6×6 board is completely filled and no further stacking fusions or evolution fusions are possible.

Restarting from the Game Over screen resets the board and score, but the player’s accumulated knowledge—remembered recipes—will carry over to the next run.

7. Strategy Tips

  • Use the Archive:
Access the Gallery button in the top-right corner to review discovered elements and recipes whenever you forget a combination.

  • Avoid Thoughtless Moves:
Random swiping will quickly flood the board with low-level basic elements. Always move with a specific creation goal in mind.

  • Positioning Is Everything:
Elements that are too far apart cannot be fused. Use corners and edges strategically to keep materials adjacent.

  • Timing Destruction:
Cross Break is a double-edged sword. Be careful not to accidentally erase high-level tiles you were cultivating—placement matters.

8. Elemental Tiers

The world is structured into the following tiers:

  • Primal (Basic):
Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Light, Darkness

  • Tier 1 (Phenomena):
Steam, Lava, Mud, Rain, Ice, Smoke, Sand

  • Tier 2 (Environment):
    Stone, Forest, Ocean, Mountain, Energy

  • Tier 3 (Life & Civilization):
Life, Human, Beast, Machine, War, Science

  • Tier 4 (Transcendence):
Hero, Soul, God, Apocalypse, Utopia, Dark Future…
